Business Unit: Mining and Metals Reports to: Lead Mechanical Engineer
The main purpose of this role is to provide high level technical support and some supervision in relation to design and engineering services for Mechanical engineering projects including earthworks, roads, dams, drainage, water supply, fixed plant facilities and other buildings.
Supervise preparation of documentation for standards, procedures, safe working practices and monitor regimes in respect of work on or around Mechanical engineering projects;
Where applicable, attend to Client requests for information subject to Project protocols
Develop, coordinate and make presentations to project and/or Client personnel
Identify the requirements for engineering input into procurement and construction contract packages;
Ensure all Mechanical engineering project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices;
Prepare schedules for design work and allocating physical and human resources to enable Mechanical engineering projects to be completed on time and within budget;
Monitor progress and initiating remedial action where required to ensure Mechanical engineering projects are completed on time and within budget;
Provide high level technical support for all Mechanical engineering project work as required;
- Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met;
- Provide input to the Mechanical engineering budget and address any variances from budget;
- Participate in technical reviews of all procurement and construction contract packages;
- Provide progress monitoring and reporting as required;
- Undertake scope control and trending of scope changes as needed;
- Undertake engineering support for the contracts;
- Meet assigned dates
Third level degree in Mechanical Engineering
Prior experience of large scale EPCM project
